On June 24, RTCA, Inc., honored MITRE/CAASD and MITRE Center for Air Force Command and Control Systems (CAFC2S) staff during its 5th Annual Spring Forum and Award Luncheon in Washington, DC. RTCA serves as a federal advisory committeee to the Federal Aviation Administration. It develops consensus-based industry recommendations and standards documents addressing key aviation needs through the volunteer contributions of a wide range of companies, including MITRE. Achieving industry concensus and getting a document published is a major milestone. The recepients of RTCA's citations and certificates of appreciation represent those in government and industry who made truly significant contributions in developing consensus-based recommendations in the past year. It is with special pride that we share here, the names of those in CAASD and MITRE who were among those honored at the luncheon. This level of recognition reflects the value that we add to achieving industry concensus and to the documentation process. Getting recognition at this annual event, in front of the entire aviation community, reflects how we are achieving our goal of being a world class organization. Jim Chadwick, MITRE/CAASD's director for spectrum management, was one of the guest speakers and spoke about "A Century of Flight." His speech was well received by all in attendance and is available in the mitrecaasd.org Library. For more information on RTCA or to purchase these and other RTCA documents, visit www.rtca.org.
